A Man Got Arrested in Goa for a Digital Arrest Scam in Jaipur

According to SP (cybercrime) Shantanu Kumar Singh, a 23-year-old guy from Goa was detained by Rajasthan cyber police on Monday for his involvement in a Rs 23.56 lakh “digital arrest” scam that targeted a 75-year-old resident of Jaipur.
According to the SP, the accused, Rehan Makandar of Ponda, Goa, was taken to Jaipur on transit remand and is currently being questioned.
In this case, six other people have already been taken into custody. According to Singh, persons acting as CBI and police officers called the elderly victim.
The callers forced him to send Rs 23.56 lakh in several installments and threatened to arrest him digitally. On May 27, a case was filed at the cyber police station in Rajasthan.
Criminals
Police had previously arrested six men in this case:
- Suresh Kumar,
- Prahlad Kumawat,
- Omprakash,
- Bhupesh,
- Vashul, and
- Sunny Kumar.
After Sunny disclosed Makandar’s role after interrogation, a cyber police team located him in Goa. Makandar acknowledged working with the other accused to handle cryptocurrency transactions, particularly in USDT (Tether), during questioning.
