Fake Recruitment Firm Duping Job Seekers Got Caught by Delhi Police

“Unemployed people are becoming the victims of cybercrimes these days at an increasing rate.”

A guy who has been connected to at least 85 cybercrime complaints nationwide has been taken into custody by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch for reportedly pretending to run a phony employment agency in order to trick job seekers.

The arrest came after a May allegation that the victim had lost a mobile phone connected to his bank account and had lost over Rs 3.9 lakh through illicit UPI transactions. A case was filed.

“The money trail led police to multiple accounts, including a key beneficiary in Telangana who received Rs 1 lakh. The amount was transferred to another account registered under the name of a manpower company operating from Spaze IT Park, Gurgaon,” said DCP (crime) Aditya Gautam.

 

During a raid, the accused Muneer Khan, alias Sahil Sharma (33), of Palwal, Haryana, was arrested, said police.

Khan and his friends founded the business to launder the earnings of cybercrime after Khan was imprisoned in a rape case. 200 checks, four debit cards, and other bogus accounts were found by the police. Arrests are being made for his accomplices.
