Karnataka Police Uncover Massive Digital Fraud Network, Freezing Over ₹13 Crore in Suspicious Transactions

In a significant blow to organized online fraud networks, Karnataka Police have identified 869 mule bank accounts linked to 8,788 cybercrime complaints, resulting in the freezing of over ₹13 crore in suspicious transactions.

The Investigation

The statewide operation, spearheaded by the Cyber Command, has led to the arrest of 68 key suspects and the seizure of incriminating materials, including mobile phones, passbooks, ATM cards, and PAN cards.

The Cyber Command, established in April 2025 and fully operational since September 2025, has centralized the reporting system for nearly 45 cybercrime police stations across the state.

New forms of investment scams, “digital arrest” frauds, fake customer care calls, and loan app scams continue to emerge.
