Law enforcement officials recovered firearms, official attire, batons, and motor vehicles from the suspects. The accused included Farukh Ansari, the deputy mukhiya of Hussainabad panchayat, along with Mohammad Mubarak Ansari, Altaf Ansari, Izrail Ansari, Tahir Ansari, Shahbaz Ansari, Pandey Yadav, Bablu Ansari, Suleman Sah, and Akram Sah.

According to India’s Senior Deputy Police Officer (SDPO) for cybercrime

Kuldeep Kumar, the group targeted homes of individuals implicated in digital fraud cases by wearing police uniforms and falsely claiming to represent the cyber police station. Upon gaining entry, the suspects reportedly restrained occupants with firearms and stole cash and high-value items.

Multiple victims refrained from reporting the incidents due to concerns about facing legal consequences for their alleged involvement in cybercrime activities.

Suspects Apprehended at Abandoned Site

The accused were taken into custody from an abandoned structure in Rahini More under Deoghar police jurisdiction while allegedly preparing for additional criminal acts, as stated by Deepak Kumar, officer-in-charge at Jasidih police station.

Farukh Ansari’s Previous Involvement

Farukh Ansari had previously been sought in connection with a kidnapping case. All ten suspects were remanded to judicial custody following their arrest. A formal investigation has been initiated.

Seizure of Illicit Materials

Initial findings suggest the gang operated across regions under the jurisdiction of Jasidih, Devipur, Margomunda, Sarath, Madhupur, Sonaraytharhi, and Pathrol police stations in Deoghar district. Authorities are also examining potential connections to similar incidents reported in Dumka and neighboring districts.

Recovered Items

Law enforcement recovered a locally manufactured pistol, four live ammunition rounds, a pistol magazine, five police T-shirts, five pairs of trousers, five caps, four plastic batons, and two motorcycles from the suspects.
