Authorities in Baran district, Rajasthan, have detained four additional suspects, including a medical professional and an engineer, in a cyber fraud investigation involving a local trader who lost ₹92.75 lakh through deceptive online trading schemes.

The Fraud Scheme Unveiled

The latest arrests increase the total number of individuals in custody to 10. The probe uncovered a structured operation where commercial bank accounts were obtained through commissions to facilitate illicit fund transfers. The fraudulent activity began when a syndicate member approached Vishnu Galav, a Baran-based trader, offering lucrative returns via a digital trading platform.

Initial Deception and Fund Transfer

Initially, the perpetrators displayed a fabricated profit of ₹54,000 to establish credibility. Galav, along with his spouse Sangeeta, subsequently transferred ₹92.75 lakh across multiple accounts designated by the fraudsters. The platform falsely indicated growing balances in foreign currency, but Galav discovered he could not access the funds when attempting withdrawals.

Discovery and Complaint

He filed a formal complaint with law enforcement on December 20, 2025, triggering an investigation into the financial transactions. Investigators traced the movement of funds through a network of accounts linked to the scheme.

Investigation and Account Tracing

A Bandhan Bank account under the name Arya Chemicals, managed by Raj Atul Bhai Padsala, 24, was identified as a key component. This account was transferred to Ashok Bhai Ramani, a 33-year-old engineer, who then passed it to Dr. Jaideep Adreshana, 41, and Laxman Vaghela, 25. These individuals allegedly facilitated the account’s handover to a suspected mastermind operating from Nepal.

Key Accounts and Transfers

Forensic analysis of the Arya Chemicals account revealed transactions totaling ₹3 crore to ₹4 crore within 10 to 15 days. Authorities are examining whether this account was used for other fraud operations nationwide.

Forensic Analysis and Fund Freeze

During enforcement actions, investigators froze approximately ₹20 lakh across multiple linked accounts. After completing verification processes, ₹10 lakh was returned to the complainant, while the remaining funds and associated accounts remain under scrutiny.

Arrests and Ongoing Actions

The four new arrests add to the 10 individuals detained, including a physiotherapist. Ongoing interrogations aim to map the domestic network, trace the flow of diverted funds, and establish connections to the primary operator in Nepal through digital and financial records.
