A Chandigarh Woman Lost ₹77 Lakhs in a “Digital Arrest” Scam
Chandigarh, Punjab: A woman from Sector 34 lost ₹77.4 lakh as a result of falling for the “Digital Arrest” cyber scam.
She was coerced into sending funds to the accounts provided by the scammers, who pretended to be law enforcement officers. A formal complaint has been filed at Sector 17’s Cyber Crime Police Station.
According to the authorities, an investigation is being conducted to find the perpetrators responsible for the cyber fraud. The police have asked the people to be on guard and report any fraudulent attempts right away due to the increasing number of cyberfraud crimes in the area.
