Amazon Web Services (AWS) Expands Security Hub into Cross-Domain Security Platform

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its Security Hub into a cross-domain security platform, allowing customers to integrate third-party solutions into a unified security operations center (SOC).

Integration with Third-Party Solutions

The new Security Hub Extended enables customers to bring in findings from curated vendors, including 7AI, Britive, CrowdStrike, and others, to provide a comprehensive view of their security posture.

According to Michael Fuller, director of security services at AWS, the selection of partner vendors was customer-driven. “We went directly to our largest and fastest-growing enterprise customers and asked them which specific solutions they wanted us to prioritize in each category for the initial launch,” he explained.

Benefits of Security Hub Extended

Security Hub Extended simplifies product management by allowing customers to purchase and manage multiple partner solutions through a single invoice. AWS becomes the seller of record, with pre-negotiated pricing and a single bill covering all selected partner solutions.

  • Easier correlation of security findings
  • Automated and improved full-stack security
  • Reduced administrative overhead

Key Features

Security Hub Extended is designed to provide customers with a more comprehensive view of their security posture, allowing them to prioritize and respond to critical security risks more effectively.

The platform’s use of Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF) and its integration with multiple partner vendors make it an attractive solution for enterprises looking to streamline their security operations.
