Center for Internet Security (CIS) Releases Updated Benchmarks

The Center for Internet Security (CIS) has recently released several updated benchmarks aimed at helping organizations secure their systems and protect against cyber threats.

  • Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise Benchmark v5.0.0

  • The CIS team has enhanced the content of the Microsoft Windows 11 Enterprise Benchmark v5.0.0 by adding 9 new security settings, updating 23 settings, removing 18 settings, and renaming one setting.

  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Benchmark v3.1.0

  • The CIS team has released a minor update to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundations Benchmark v3.1.0, maintaining alignment with recent changes in the OCI platform’s user interface.

  • Apache Cassandra 5.0 Benchmark v1.1.0

  • The CIS team has published the Apache Cassandra 5.0 Benchmark v1.1.0, which includes support for Apache Cassandra 5.0.6.

  • Apache Cassandra 4.1 Benchmark v1.2.0

  • The CIS team has released the Apache Cassandra 4.1 Benchmark v1.2.0, supporting Apache Cassandra 4.1.10.

  • Apache Cassandra 4.0 Benchmark v1.3.0

  • The CIS team has published the Apache Cassandra 4.0 Benchmark v1.3.0, supporting Apache Cassandra 4.0.19.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Benchmark v5.0.0

  • The CIS team has released the Microsoft Windows Server 2022 Benchmark v5.0.0, which includes 3 new security settings, 16 updated settings, 15 removed settings, and 1 renamed setting.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2025 Benchmark v2.0.0

  • The CIS team has released the Microsoft Windows Server 2025 Benchmark v2.0.0, which includes 8 new security settings, 17 updated settings, 17 removed settings, and 1 renamed setting.

  • GitHub Benchmark v1.2.0

  • The CIS team has published the GitHub Benchmark v1.2.0, addressing GitHub versions up to and including V3.18.

  • New CIS Benchmarks Released

  • The CIS team has released several new benchmarks, including the Microsoft Defender Antivirus Benchmark v1.0.0 and the Microsoft Intune for Edge Benchmark v1.0.0.

According to the CIS, “These benchmarks provide detailed configuration guidelines and best practices for securing Microsoft Defender Antivirus and Microsoft Intune for Edge.”
