Nationwide Crackdown on Cybercrime Gang

A nationwide crackdown on a sophisticated cybercrime gang has resulted in the arrest of 27 suspects and the seizure of numerous devices and financial documents.

Operation Details

The operation, conducted by the Delhi Police’s West District Cyber Cell, spanned 11 states and targeted an organized network involved in various forms of online fraud.

Investigation Findings

The investigation, which is ongoing, has confirmed losses of approximately ₹1.5 crore and uncovered suspicious transactions totaling ₹13.91 crore in bank accounts linked to the gang.

Law enforcement officials believe that the group used advanced technical methods to deceive victims and perpetrate financial crimes.

Coordinated Raids

The cybercell had been monitoring the network’s activities for several days before launching the coordinated raids in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Bihar, and West Bengal.

Seized Items

During the operation, police seized 25 mobile phones, 28 SIM cards, 20 banking cards, a point-of-sale machine, a motorcycle, and various financial documents.

Gang’s Modus Operandi

According to officials, the gang operated a complex online scheme that used multiple platforms to lure victims with fake investment opportunities.

In many cases, suspects used social media platforms, including Instagram, to contact potential victims and promise unrealistic profits.

Warning to the Public

Cybersecurity experts have warned that organized networks like this one are increasingly exploiting modern technology to carry out complex fraud schemes.

To protect themselves, individuals are advised to exercise extreme caution when engaging in online transactions and to verify the authenticity of any investment or digital payment before transferring funds.

Delhi Police Advisory

The Delhi Police has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious online activity.

Once the investigation is complete, the entire network will be exposed, and strict legal action will be taken against those involved.
