A recent investigation by the Uttar Pradesh Anti Terror Squad has uncovered a cyber conspiracy involving a young man who allegedly threatened to bomb a district court and police line gate.

According to authorities, the accused’s actions were motivated by a personal vendetta stemming from a failed romantic relationship. The woman in question had ended their relationship and become engaged to someone else, prompting the accused to create a fake social media profile in her name and post objectionable content.

Planning and Execution of the Threat Conspiracy

Driven by a desire for revenge, the accused began to plan a threat conspiracy, creating multiple IDs and sending threatening messages to the court premises. The emails also included demands for money from the chief minister, escalating the severity of the case.

Investigation and Arrest

The investigation, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Anti Terror Squad in collaboration with local police, uncovered a trail of digital evidence that led to the accused’s arrest. Authorities found that he had researched VPNs, proxy servers, and Proton Mail services online in an effort to conceal his IP address.

Evidence and Charges

A raid on the accused’s rented room yielded a trove of digital evidence, including five mobile phones, a laptop, two memory cards, four SIM cards, and cash. Examination of the devices revealed around 50 IDs, including accounts on Gmail, Outlook, and Proton Mail, as well as 20 fake accounts allegedly used for social media activity and creating obscene content.

Aftermath and Ongoing Investigation

The accused was produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Second and was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. Due to protests from lawyers, the accused was brought to court secretly, and strict security arrangements were put in place.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to determine whether any other individuals were involved in the conspiracy. In the meantime, security agencies have urged the public to report any suspicious online activity to the police immediately and to avoid spreading rumors on social media.
