Fake Bomb Threat Emails Disrupt Indian Courts, 1500 Hoaxes Exposed

In a disturbing trend highlighted by the recent arrest of Srinivas Lewis, a resident of Mysuru, Indian courts faced unprecedented disruptions due to over 1500 fake bomb threat emails.

The Scale of the Operation

The Delhi High Court received more than 50 threatening messages.
Law enforcement agencies across multiple states, including New Delhi, Mumbai, and Chandigarh, were targeted.
The accused sent emails in bulk and forwarded them to senior police officials to amplify panic and strain law enforcement resources.

According to the investigating agency, “The accused used a fake identity on Yahoo and relied heavily on Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to conceal his digital footprint.”
