Google do $10 Billion Cloud Agreement with Google

In an effort to become more future-ready, Meta is investing billions of dollars in artificial intelligence (AI), as Mark Zuckerberg had envisioned in July.

The chief AI officer of the Facebook parent business announced on Friday that the company has inked a contract with the generative AI lab Midjourney.  In another agreement, the tech company founded by Mark Zuckerberg inked a $10 billion deal with Google, according to Reuters.

Mark Zuckerberg has been stealing top AI talent from competitors, such as ChatGPT creator OpenAI, while the business restructures its AI operations by constructing the Meta SuperIntelligence Labs.

These are the two HUGE agreements that Meta just inked to advance its AI ambitions.

Meta-Midjourney Partnership

The generative AI lab Midjourney and Meta have reached an agreement enabling Meta to license the startup’s “aesthetic technology” for use in the Facebook parent company’s next models and products.

In an X post on Friday, Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang stated that the two businesses’ research teams will collaborate through this technical alliance, “bringing beauty to billions.”

“Midjourney has greatly impressed us. We are excited to be working more closely with them, and they have achieved true feats of technical and aesthetic excellence,” he said.

The action demonstrates Meta’s determination to set its products apart through aesthetics.  Midjourney creates graphics based on text prompts and charges customers a monthly fee for its products.

“An all-of-the-above strategy will be needed to guarantee that Meta can provide the greatest items for individuals.  This entails cooperating with the top industry players, having top-tier personnel, and having an ambitious computational strategy,” Wang stated.

With regard to AI image development, Midjourney’s AI capabilities might assist Meta in scaling out its user experience, which might lower content production costs and increase engagement.

After the Sundar Pichai-led behemoth teamed up with OpenAI, Google’s six-year cloud computing arrangement with Meta Platform is the second significant deal in recent months.

According to the article, the arrangement will grant Meta access to Google Cloud’s servers, storage, networking, and other services.

In a filing earlier this month, Meta revealed that it is looking for outside partners to assist it in financing the enormous infrastructure required to support AI by selling off $2 billion in data center assets.
