Mohali Cyber Cops Discover ₹18 Cr Online Gaming Fraud, 8 Suspects Arrested
Mohali, Punjab: The cybercrime police have uncovered a nationwide online gaming scam that involved fraudulent investment schemes as part of a significant crackdown on cyber fraud. Eight suspects were taken into custody by the police, who also discovered a scheme that defrauded people out of about ₹18 crore by using high-return online gambling platforms as a front.

Pankaj Goswami from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, and Bhaven Kumar Ulke from Nagpur, Maharashtra, are the two apprehended suspects; the police have not disclosed the identities of the other suspects.
Speaking to the media, SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans disclosed that the defendants used the website www.allpanelexch.com to conduct business, which they deceptively advertised as a profitable online gambling and betting site. WhatsApp messages displaying fictitious revenues were used to entice victims to create user IDs and make investments using many bank accounts connected to the defendant.
A team led by DSP Rupinder Deep Kaur Sohi conducted simultaneous raids at multiple places in Kharar, including Koiyaan City Homes, Gillco Valley, and Royal Apartments, in response to specific intelligence information. Eight people were arrested as a result of the raids, and important evidence was seized.

According to SSP Hans, the gang operated out of two separate locations in Kharar, and Vijay, the suspected mastermind, is presently at large.
The police have issued a lookout circular and are working to find and apprehend him.
The public has been warned by the authorities to exercise caution and not fall for online gambling or investing schemes that promise abnormally large profits. To follow the money chain and find additional victims and scam participants, an investigation is still underway.
Section 66 of the IT Act and Section 318(4) of the BNS have been used to book them.
