Nigerian Cybercriminal Using Language App Duped 100+ Women, Gets Arrested in Delhi
“A cyberscam case has come forward which involves the use of a Language App to dupe 100+ Women.”
A 29-year-old Nigerian national named Stephane, also known as K Cee Dominic, has been taken into custody by the Delhi Police for allegedly using a language exchange app to defraud more than 100 women in India.
By assuming the identity of “Duck Young,” a Korean businessman living in the UK, the accused developed an emotional bond with the victims before forcing them to send money under false pretenses.

Modus Operandi: Deception and Romance
According to investigators, Stephane used the app to reach out to women and build trust by portraying himself as a prosperous businessman. He then stated that he was held at the Mumbai airport because his medical records were missing.
When accomplices posing as customs officers sought money for his “release,” victims transferred money using UPI.
Examining and Arresting
Anjali, a woman, complained that she had been defrauded of ₹48,500, which led to the arrest. Police used digital footprints, such as call logs and financial transactions, to track down the suspects.
After overstaying his tourist visa, he was caught living illegally in Tilak Nagar, West Delhi.
The Scam’s Scale
Stephane targeted women in multiple states, according to authorities, and victims reported losses ranging from a few thousand to several lakhs. To find accomplices and retrieve the money that was stolen, the investigation is still ongoing.

Call for Public Awareness
When communicating with strangers online, particularly through dating and language-exchange platforms, police have advised the public to be cautious. Users are advised to report suspicious activity to the cybercrime cell as soon as they become aware of it and to be wary of requests for urgent money.
