Perplexity AI Integration in Samsung’s Next-Gen Galaxy Series: Enhanced Features and Innovations
Samsung to Integrate Perplexity AI into Upcoming Galaxy S26 Devices
Samsung is set to expand its Galaxy AI ecosystem with the addition of Perplexity, a new AI agent that will be embedded in its upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup.
Key Features of Perplexity Integration
The company is expected to officially announce the new devices at its Galaxy Unpacked event. Perplexity will be accessible through quick-access controls, such as long-pressing the side button or using the voice command “Hey, Plex.” The AI agent will be integrated into several native Galaxy apps, including Samsung Notes, Clock, Gallery, Reminder, and Calendar. Additionally, Perplexity will be supported in selected third-party apps, although Samsung has not specified which ones.
Streamlining User Workflows
The integration is designed to streamline user workflows by enabling seamless transitions between tasks without requiring manual app management.
According to Won-Joon Choi, President, COO, and Head of the R&D Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, “Our goal is to create an open and inclusive integrated AI ecosystem that provides users with more choice, flexibility, and control to efficiently complete complex tasks.”
Expanding Galaxy AI
The addition of Perplexity marks a significant expansion of Galaxy AI, allowing users to choose from multiple integrated agents tailored to their preferences, needs, and routines. As Choi noted, “Galaxy AI acts as an orchestrator, bringing together different forms of AI into a single, natural, cohesive experience.”
Enhancing User Experience
By incorporating Perplexity into its Galaxy S26 devices, Samsung aims to enhance the user experience and provide a more intuitive and efficient way to interact with AI-powered features.
