Rajasthan Establishes Cybercrime Center to Combat Rising Threats

The state government of Rajasthan has launched the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (R4C), a specialized unit dedicated to combating cybercrime and providing swift assistance to victims.

Cybercrime Cases Surge in Rajasthan

According to official statistics, the number of cybercrime cases in Rajasthan has increased significantly over the past three years, rising from approximately 80,000 cases in 2023 to around 1.25 lakh in 2025.

Key Features of the R4C

The R4C will serve as the first point of contact for cybercrime reporting in Rajasthan, allowing for direct communication with local police stations and expedited action.
The center will be staffed by experts who will undergo training from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and other national institutions.
To ensure effective coordination, the R4C will maintain close ties with banks and their representatives, who will monitor transactions and freeze suspect accounts.
The center will leverage data analytics to identify potential threats and provide targeted responses.

Rapid Relief and Support

The R4C will aim to provide prompt assistance to victims of cybercrime by establishing a direct link between the center and local police stations, reducing the time it takes to register FIRs and recover stolen funds.

The R4C was formally announced on January 10, 2026, during an event attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The establishment of the R4C aims to mitigate financial losses resulting from cybercrime, which have increased by an approximate ₹75 crores annually over the past three years.
