Delhi News Live Updates: 100+ Schools Get Bomb Threat Emails, Central Agencies’ Investigation Continue

Presently, an exhaustive search operation is underway, facilitated by bomb detection and disposal squads, as well as Delhi Fire Service officers.  Cyber Teams are on alert to find the source of the mail senders.

New Delhi:  Wednesday morning, nearly one hundred schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) were flooded with an email containing bomb threats.  At least five institutions are located in the southwest, three in the east, and ten in South Delhi.

Around 4:00 a.m., the institutions received the threats via their official email addresses. Efforts are being made to determine the source of the email, which initially seems to have been transmitted from Russia.

Meanwhile, the matter is also being investigated by central agencies.  The Indian Express has been informed by officials that hospitals and airports have received comparable threats over the past two days, including on Monday.

So far, the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) has been notified of sixty calls containing explosives threats.  After being notified, the school premises were expeditiously evacuated by the local police.

Presently, a comprehensive search operation is underway, facilitated by explosive detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and DFS representatives.

Delhi’s AAP Government’s highly decorated MLA Atishi has notified through her X (formerly Twitter) handle that she has reached out to Delhi Police for quick action and a successful probe is going on the matter.  She even requested parents and guardians of the kids studying in schools not to panic and the necessary actions are being taken by the responsible authorities.

On bomb threats to several schools, DCP Central, Devesh Kumar Mahla says, “We’ve checked all the schools and nothing has been found, there is no need to panic.”
