The Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF) will launch a critical white paper titled “Future Policing & Advanced Cyber Forensics: A Strategic Framework for Digital Crime Investigation in the AI Era” during the FutureCrime Summit 2026.

The publication serves as a practical guide for Central Government agencies, State Police departments, Central and State Forensic Science Laboratories (CFSLs/SFSLs), Cyber Crime Units, forensic laboratories, policymakers, prosecutors, and investigators. It aligns with key legislative frameworks including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

The white paper advocates for a national initiative to establish Cyber Forensic Investigation Centres (CFICs) across India, supported by standardized infrastructure, legally compliant evidence handling protocols, AI-driven investigation platforms, Digital Evidence Management Systems (DEMS), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Cyber Forensic Labs-on-Wheels, and an interoperable forensic ecosystem.
