Vulnerability Intelligence Platform VulnCheck Secures $25M in Series B Funding
Vulnerability Intelligence Firm Secures $25 Million in Funding to Enhance Threat Detection Capabilities
VulnCheck, a company specializing in vulnerability intelligence, has announced a $25 million Series B funding round, bringing the total amount raised to $45 million. Led by Sorenson Capital, with participation from National Grid Partners, Ten Eleven Ventures, and In-Q-Tel, the investment will be used to expand product development and drive growth.
Platform Capabilities
VulnCheck’s platform is designed to track the lifecycle of vulnerabilities and their active exploitation, providing security teams and threat intelligence analysts with critical insights to identify high-risk vulnerabilities. The platform continuously monitors a wide range of data sources, including exploit availability, proof-of-concept code, and weaponized payloads, to assist organizations in prioritizing patching efforts beyond traditional scoring systems.
Early-Stage Intelligence
The company’s focus on early-stage intelligence enables it to surface indicators of compromise or exploit development before they appear in public databases, providing customers with a proactive approach to threat detection.
According to Mark Kuhr, co-founder and CTO of Synack, a security testing firm, “Modern threats require more than just scans. By combining VulnCheck’s intelligence with our automated AI penetration testing and human analysis, we can deliver a continuous defense that identifies truly exploitable vulnerabilities, empowering customers to prioritize risks that matter and close the gap on exploited CVEs.”
Growth and Expansion
VulnCheck emerged from stealth in early 2023 with $3.2 million in seed funding. The company’s platform is designed to provide security teams with actionable intelligence to stay ahead of emerging threats. With this latest investment, VulnCheck is well-positioned to expand its capabilities and meet growing demand for its solutions.
