EC-Council Enhances AI Certification Program to Boost U.S. AI Workforce Readiness and Cybersecurity
EC-Council Expands AI Certification Portfolio to Address Growing Need for Skilled AI Workforce
The International Economic Development Council (EC-Council) has expanded its artificial intelligence (AI) certification portfolio to address the growing need for a skilled AI workforce in the United States. The launch of four new AI certifications and the updated Certified CISO v4 program aims to bridge the gap between AI adoption and workforce readiness.
Addressing the Growing Need for Skilled AI Workforce
According to IDC, unmanaged AI risk is projected to reach $5.5 trillion globally, while Bain & Company estimates a 700,000-person AI and cybersecurity reskilling gap in the United States. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have also highlighted workforce readiness as a primary constraint on AI-driven productivity and growth.

EC-Council’s Enterprise AI Credential Suite
The EC-Council’s Enterprise AI Credential Suite is designed to provide professionals with practical AI capabilities across adoption, security, and governance. The suite includes four new certifications: Artificial Intelligence Essentials (AIE), Certified AI Program Manager (CAIPM), Certified Offensive AI Security Professional (COASP), and Certified Responsible AI Governance & Ethics (CRAGE).
- Artificial Intelligence Essentials (AIE)
- Certified AI Program Manager (CAIPM)
- Certified Offensive AI Security Professional (COASP)
- Certified Responsible AI Governance & Ethics (CRAGE)
The AIE certification serves as the baseline, building practical AI fluency and responsible usage across roles. The CAIPM certification equips professionals to translate AI strategy into execution, aligning teams, governance, and delivery to drive measurable ROI and enterprise-scale intelligence. The COASP certification builds elite capabilities to test vulnerabilities in large language models (LLMs), simulate exploits, and secure AI infrastructure. The CRAGE certification focuses on responsible AI, governance, and ethics at the enterprise scale, with NIST/ISO compliance.
Updated Certified CISO v4 Program
The updated Certified CISO v4 program prepares executives to manage AI-driven risk with clarity, strengthen governance, and make informed decisions when responsibility is on the line. Security leaders are now accountable for systems that learn, adapt, and influence outcomes at speed.
Alignment with U.S. Priorities
The launch of the EC-Council’s AI certification portfolio aligns with U.S. priorities on workforce development and applied AI education, as outlined in Executive Order 14179 and Executive Orders 14277 and 14278. The certifications also build on the EC-Council’s long-standing work with government and defense organizations, including its existing DoD 8140 baseline certification recognition.
