In a sophisticated scheme, cybercriminals have established a vast network of fake ticketing websites that mimic the official booking platforms for the highly anticipated world tour of the popular K-pop group BTS.

The scam has targeted fans in nine countries, leveraging cloned platforms that lead to instant payments via systems like PIX in Brazil, resulting in substantial financial losses.
At least ten fake domains were discovered in early April 2026, replicating the visual design and functionality of official ticketing websites.
Cybercriminals exploit social media platforms, particularly Instagram, where fan pages and communities share ticket-related updates, capitalizing on the “Fear of Missing Out” (FOMO) among fans.
To create a sense of urgency, scammers use fake error messages, “high demand” alerts, and countdown timers on checkout pages.

Cybersecurity experts urge users to exercise extreme caution when purchasing tickets online, verifying official websites, secure payment gateways, and authorized ticket vendors. Fans are also advised to enable bank alerts, avoid suspicious links, and rely solely on trusted sources for ticket purchases.
