The idea of the virtual world, or cyberspace, was not there when the current laws were drafted.  People are spreading false information more easily as a result of social media use.

According to the cabinet, fraudsters are taking advantage of these technological advancements to jeopardize data security and privacy, as well as the integrity of vital infrastructure.  There are no indications that these attacks will decrease in any way in the future, which emphasizes how crucial it is to fortify cyberspace with increased security using new instruments, technology, and regulations.
