Data Breach at DocketWise Affects 143,480 Individuals

A significant data breach has been discovered at immigration and legal case management platform DocketWise, impacting over 143,000 people who had their personal, financial, and medical information compromised.

Scope and Impacted Information

  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and passport and government ID numbers.
  • Financial Account Information: Financial account numbers and credentials, payment card numbers and associated access information, and tax identification numbers.
  • Medical Information: Health insurance policy numbers and medical condition or treatment information.
  • Non-Financial Account Usernames and Access Information.

Company Response and Investigation

DocketWise has notified the potentially affected parties and provided them with two years of free credit monitoring and identity restoration services. An investigation into the incident began in October 2025, and DocketWise has reported that it has closed the unauthorized access to the compromised data.

According to the company, the breach was caused by a threat actor cloning valid credentials from a third-party partner repository, allowing them to access sensitive data stored on the DocketWise application.

The full extent of the breach remains uncertain as the company continues to investigate. DocketWise’s notification to the Maine Attorney General’s Office highlights the severity of the breach and the need for ongoing vigilance in protecting sensitive information.
