After coming across a joke that mentioned the pirate group 1TamilMV, the accused reached out to them using their recruitment email (Proton Mail) and offered to source Telugu content that had been pirated.

The Cyber Crime police said that ‘Piracy is a Crime.’

By shifting to Telegram after disclosing his Telegram ID, the accused has taken all necessary steps to avoid being followed by the Investigating Agency.

He accepted Bitcoin payments and used Coin DCX and ZebPay to exchange the cryptocurrency into Indian Rupees.”

According to the Copyright Act of 1957, recording or spreading unauthorized films is a major crime. Section 7 (1) (a), Section 6 AB, and Section 6 AA of the Cinematograph Act.

The Central Government or the Board of Film Certification (CBFC) issues these orders, and violating them carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison, a fine of one lakh rupees, or both.
