Cyber Scam Targets Retired Soldier

A retired soldier from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar district fell victim to a cyber scam, losing ₹29.5 lakh.

Fake Investment Scheme

The 48-year-old victim received an unsolicited phone call on November 25, 2025, from an unknown number claiming to offer investment advice from a senior advisor at a reputable stockbroking firm.

WhatsApp Group Scam

The victim joined a WhatsApp group called “F64 R.B.K Market Parivar,” where they shared trading tips and stock analysis to create a false sense of legitimacy.

According to officials, the victim provided personal details, including their PAN and Aadhaar numbers, which were exploited by the scammers.

Fake Mobile Application

The scammers created a fake mobile application that showed exaggerated profits exceeding ₹4 crore, persuading the victim to invest more substantial amounts.

Investigation Initiated

An FIR has been registered under sections related to cheating and impersonation, and authorities are now investigating the matter to identify the perpetrators.
