Once victims enter their login credentials on these sites, attackers capture OTPs and two-factor authentication codes, granting them access to the victim’s iCloud account and potentially taking control of the device and associated data.
Experts warn that the scam relies heavily on psychological manipulation, preying on individuals who are stressed and may hastily respond to the situation without verifying the authenticity of the message or link.
