Notable acquisitions include 1Password’s purchase of Apono, an Israeli firm specializing in just-in-time access governance for human users, automated systems, and AI agents. The transaction, valued between $250 million and $300 million, aims to expand 1Password’s identity security infrastructure. A10 Networks, based in San Jose, acquired TrojAI, a Canadian AI security company, to integrate AI-driven red-teaming and runtime protection into its security offerings. Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed. Accenture secured a majority stake in Dragos while acquiring full ownership of runZero and NetRise in a $4.175 billion transaction. This consolidation is intended to create a unified platform for industrial and critical infrastructure cybersecurity, offering improved visibility and threat response mechanisms. Belgium-based Aikido Security acquired Root, an Israeli-founded startup focused on automated vulnerability remediation, in a deal estimated at $70 million to $100 million. The integration of Root’s patching technology will support Aikido’s new product lines for addressing open-source vulnerabilities without requiring version upgrades. Cisco expanded its security portfolio by acquiring WideField Security, a California-based identity threat detection firm. The acquisition enhances the Agentic SOC capabilities of the Splunk platform by correlating identity, session, and activity data across human, non-human, and AI-driven entities. This marks Cisco’s third cybersecurity acquisition of 2026, following prior deals with Astrix Security and Galileo.
