Lattice Sentry 5.0 Enhances AI Data Centers with Quantum-Resistant Firmware Security
Lattice Semiconductor has launched version 5.0 of its Lattice Sentry security framework, integrating post-quantum cryptography (PQC) into platform firmware resilience (PFR) and attestation functionalities.
Lattice Semiconductor Launches Lattice Sentry v5.0
The update offers CNSA 2.0-compliant, NIST-aligned safeguards for artificial intelligence data centers and essential infrastructure, providing engineers with a verified, operational method to implement quantum-resistant security measures.
Key Features of Lattice Sentry v5.0
The Lattice Sentry solution stack (v5.0) enables designers to create quantum-secure systems through features including NIST SP800-193-compliant protection for BIOS, BMC, and board firmware, along with automated recovery mechanisms.
The platform supports crypto-agility with anti-rollback safeguards, secure firmware updates, key management, and decommissioning processes. It combines post-quantum and classical cryptographic methods, featuring CNSA 2.0-compliant PQC algorithms such as ML-DSA, LMS, and XMSS for authentication, ML-KEM for key exchange, and hash-based signature verification for long-term flexibility.
Classical cryptography options include ECDSA and AES-GCM. Hardware attestation capabilities leverage SPDM-based device verification across server and rack infrastructure, alongside DICE-anchored cryptographic identities to ensure supply chain and platform integrity.
Quote from Mamta Gupta
Mamta Gupta, vice president of business development for compute communications at Lattice Semiconductor, stated that AI systems and associated threats are advancing swiftly, with platform firmware emerging as a key attack vector. She emphasized that the quantum computing era will challenge traditional security paradigms, noting that customers can now achieve immediate security and future quantum preparedness simultaneously.
Advanced Security for Disaggregated Environments
The system supports multi-device attestation in disaggregated rack environments. The AMI Tektagon PQC Resiliency framework provides an end-to-end solution for PQC-enabled provisioning, verification, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
A pre-validated silicon and software stack accelerates deployment, supported by a reference platform, proven IP library, Lattice Radiant and Lattice Propel design tools, and AMI Tektagon utilities. Demo boards and custom design services are currently available.
Conclusion
Lattice Semiconductor’s Lattice Sentry v5.0 represents a significant advancement in securing AI infrastructure against emerging quantum threats, combining cutting-edge post-quantum cryptography with robust firmware resilience and attestation capabilities.
