Cyber Scammers Target Company Employee in Noida

On August 24, 2025, a resident of Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, fell victim to a sophisticated cyber scam targeting his bank accounts. The individual, who wishes to remain anonymous, is employed at a mirror-manufacturing company in Noida.

The scammers, posing as bank officials, contacted him via phone, seeking sensitive information about his accounts. Over the course of their conversation, they managed to extract confidential details linked to two separate bank accounts held by the victim.

According to the victim, “The scammers were very convincing and had all my account details, which made me believe that they were genuine bank officials.”

The scammers’ ultimate goal was to gain unauthorized access to these accounts, allowing them to transfer substantial sums of money without the victim’s knowledge or consent. On the same day, ₹54,900 was indeed withdrawn from one of the accounts, followed by another withdrawal of approximately ₹57,000 from the second account. These transactions collectively resulted in the loss of over ₹1 lakh.

However, the scammers did not stop there. They continued to manipulate the accounts, moving funds through various channels to conceal their tracks. Ultimately, a staggering ₹6.06 lakh was siphoned off from the victim’s accounts before any action could be taken.

Investigation Launched

The victim promptly reported the incident to the authorities, initiating a comprehensive investigation into this high-profile case of cyber crime. By registering a First Information Report (FIR) with the local police station, the victim has brought attention to the severity of this breach and prompted a thorough examination into the circumstances surrounding the theft.

Law enforcement agencies will now work diligently to uncover the identities of those responsible for this complex scheme, tracing the digital breadcrumbs left behind by the perpetrators. This probe aims to not only recover the stolen funds but also identify potential accomplices and disrupt future attempts at similar cyber-facilitated scams.
