Legit Security has launched VibeGuard 2.0, a solution designed to identify, secure, and integrate with coding agents while maintaining a seamless workflow for developers.

Introduction

Legit Security has launched VibeGuard 2.0, a solution designed to identify, secure, and integrate with coding agents while maintaining a seamless workflow for developers. This update, released in the fourth quarter of 2025, expands on the original VibeGuard platform, which focused on safeguarding AI-generated code during its creation phase by implementing protective constraints on coding agents. The new version enhances the developer experience while strengthening security for AI-centric coding environments. Unlike traditional IDE extensions that face deployment challenges and user removal risks, VibeGuard 2.0 operates natively on endpoints, automatically detecting and securing all coding agents. It engages with users through interactive mechanisms rather than restrictive measures, ensuring a frictionless process. The platform supports a wide range of agentic variations and plugins, offering highly specific policies to secure individual agent commands and tools. The approach emphasizes integrating security directly at the developer endpoint, aiming to enhance agent functionality rather than impede it.

According to Liav Caspi, CTO at Legit, securing code generation at the point of creation is the most effective strategy for rapid and secure development. "VibeGuard 2.0’s architecture and features enable risk mitigation at the code generation stage while protecting both users and organizations," Caspi stated. "This represents a significant advancement in agentic application security."

Core Features

  • Endpoint security: A novel technology framework that provides comprehensive agent protection at the endpoint. The system automatically identifies and incorporates coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot, enforcing automated guardrails and policy compliance.
  • Real-time security guardrails: Capabilities such as skill discovery, protection against hazardous operations, and granular MCP (Model Control Policy) security are integrated to prevent risky actions.
  • Command monitoring and enforcement: Security teams gain visibility into agent-executed commands, with the ability to block dangerous operations based on customizable or preconfigured policies aligned with industry best practices. This mitigates risks of unintentional or malicious data leaks, production data corruption, and similar threats.
  • Anti-tampering measures: Enhanced protections to prevent unauthorized modifications to agent configurations or workflows. The platform addresses the growing need for agentic security by prioritizing developer productivity while maintaining robust safeguards. By embedding security directly into the coding environment, VibeGuard 2.0 aims to reduce vulnerabilities associated with AI-generated code without disrupting workflow efficiency.
