Accused of Operating Multi-State Visa Fraud Ring Brought to Chandigarh for Further Questioning

The Economic Offences Wing of Chandigarh Police has brought a woman accused of operating a multi-state visa fraud ring to the city from Patiala jail for further investigation.

According to authorities, Ritu and her husband, Vivek, operated an immigration firm called “Sky Vision” in Zirakpur.

The couple allegedly promised potential clients overseas visas and job opportunities in exchange for substantial payments.
However, victims reported that these promises were never fulfilled, resulting in significant financial losses.
Police investigations uncovered a complex web of financial transactions, with funds collected from victims being transferred into bank accounts linked to Ritu and her family members.
In one instance, Vivek attempted to flee the country using a fake visa on his own passport, highlighting the extent of document manipulation involved in the scheme.

Ritu was initially arrested in a separate fraud case and was lodged in Patiala jail.

Further Investigation Ongoing

She was subsequently produced in Chandigarh on a production warrant for further questioning regarding her involvement in the visa fraud ring.

Her husband, Vivek, remains at large and is considered a fugitive in the state.

Further investigation is ongoing to identify additional victims, track down financial transactions, and dismantle the broader network involved in the scam.
