A cybersecurity firm has secured a significant investment to bolster its efforts in combating AI-driven threats.

The company, Armadin, has raised $189.9 million in funding, marking the largest combined Seed and Series A funding round in the history of the cybersecurity industry.
Investment and Platform Development
The investment, led by Accel and participated by Google Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Menlo Ventures, In-Q-Tel, 8VC, and Ballistic Ventures, will be used to further develop Armadin’s platform, which is designed to help organizations prepare for the increasing speed and scale of AI-powered cyber threats.
According to Armadin’s CEO, Kevin Mandia, the rapid evolution of AI-driven threats is outpacing traditional security measures. “The AI shift is changing cybersecurity more rapidly than any transition in history,” Mandia said. “In a world of machine-speed attacks, defense must become autonomous. You cannot have a human in the loop for every defense decision and expect to win.”
Armadin’s Approach
To address this challenge, Armadin’s platform utilizes specialized AI agents that leverage custom models to identify and validate exploitable risks. These agents are designed to mimic the behavior of advanced human threat actors, providing organizations with a more comprehensive understanding of their security posture.
Armadin’s approach is centered around the concept of an “agentic attacker swarm,” where AI-powered agents continuously reason, plan, and adapt to identify potential vulnerabilities. This approach is distinct from traditional vulnerability scanning tools, which often rely on manual processes that can be slow and ineffective against modern threats.
