Enterprise-Grade Data Security with New Kingston IronKey USB Drive

Kingston Digital Unveils IronKey Locker+ 50 G2, a Highly Secure USB Drive for Enterprises

Kingston Digital has introduced the IronKey Locker+ 50 G2 (LP50 G2), a next-generation hardware-encrypted USB flash drive designed to provide enterprise-grade security for sensitive data.

Security Features

The LP50 G2 boasts FIPS 197 certification and employs AES 256-bit hardware encryption in XTS mode to safeguard against unauthorized access.

The device also features digitally signed firmware, which protects against BadUSB attacks, and brute force password attacks are mitigated by a lockout mechanism that crypto-erases the drive after 10 consecutive failed login attempts.

Additionally, the LP50 G2 includes a virtual keyboard to prevent keyloggers and screenloggers from capturing password entries.

Password Management

The drive supports both Admin and User passwords, with options for Complex or Passphrase modes.

Complex mode requires passwords of 6-16 characters, using at least three of four character sets, while Passphrase mode allows for PINs, sentences, word lists, or memorable phrases of 10-64 characters.

Admins can enable or reset User passwords as needed, and a password reveal feature reduces the likelihood of typos leading to failed login attempts.

Ease of Use and Compatibility

The LP50 G2 is designed for ease of use, with no application installation required, and is compatible with both Windows and macOS systems.

“The Kingston IronKey line up now features XTS-AES 256-bit hardware-encrypted drives with FIPS 197 certification, including three best-in-class FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validated drives, offering superior data protection solutions for consumer, enterprise, and government customers.” – Oscar Escayola Kaloudis, EMEA Flash Business Manager and Sales Manager DACH, Middle East and Africa, Greece and Israel for Kingston
