Tenable has introduced advanced AI security features within its Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. The updated Tenable One AI Exposure solution now provides broader platform support, incorporating Google Gemini alongside existing coverage of major LLMs such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT Enterprise, and Microsoft Copilot.

Key AI Security Enhancements

The enhancement also extends discovery capabilities to all primary Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementations and AI-native Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools. These updates enable security teams to identify AI usage locations, assess associated risks, and prioritize mitigation efforts.

Google Gemini Integration

Provides oversight and governance for Google Gemini, including monitoring user interactions, enforcing policies, and detecting malicious activity or inappropriate use.

Expanded AI Visibility

Doubles coverage of authorized and shadow AI, supporting MCP deployments, AI-native IDEs like Cursor, Windsurf, and Trae, and AI-enabled browser extensions.

Streamlined Remediation

Enables faster response through direct ticket creation in Jira and ServiceNow or automated alerts via Slack and Microsoft Teams for policy violations.

The AI Exposure Gap

The rapid integration of AI across enterprises has created a significant AI exposure gap, an often-hidden risk stemming from interconnected applications, infrastructure, identities, and data. Tenable’s analysis revealed 457 million AI-related security vulnerabilities across over 7,000 organizations, averaging 62,000 exposures per entity within a 30-day period.

“The scale of AI exposures highlights the challenge of governing both authorized and unauthorized AI deployments, which often outpace security teams’ capacity to manage them,” stated Eric Doerr, Tenable’s Chief Product Officer. “AI attack surfaces are complicating defenders’ responsibilities, and legacy tools are inadequate. With today’s expansion to include Google Gemini, MCP, and AI-native IDEs, Tenable offers the only unified platform for AI visibility and governance across major LLMs, software, and tools.”

Tenable One AI Capabilities

Tenable One combines two core AI capabilities. Tenable AI Exposure assists organizations in identifying, evaluating, and securing AI implementations across their environments. Tenable Hexa AI serves as the platform’s agentic engine, utilizing AI to coordinate agents, automate security tasks, and accelerate remediation.

Recent Developments in AI Security

Recent developments in AI security include the deployment of AI agent deception techniques in UK cybersecurity trials, exploitation of ScreenConnect by fraudsters targeting Bank of America, and the emergence of open-source platforms for self-improving AI agents. Additional resources highlight tools for simplifying security management, such as the CIS SecureSuite Platform, and ongoing efforts to detect vulnerabilities in network devices like TP-Link Omada systems.
