Cyber Police Arrest Man for Involvement in Matrimonial Fraud
Pune, Maharashtra: A guy from Lucknow was detained by the Pune cyber police on Tuesday for defrauding a woman in the city of ₹3 crores after communicating with her via an online marriage service in 2024.

The authorities claim that the individual presently resides and works in Australia. In November of last year, the victim filed a complaint with the police, and the police were looking into it.
The authorities located the operator of each bank account to which the woman made money transfers. After that, the authorities also examined the electronic devices that were utilized to run the matrimonial website profile. The accused was found to be utilizing it.
The police said that the man who was arrested had created a profile on a marriage website and expressed interest in numerous ladies there.
One of the ladies he had shown interest in was the victim. The con artist pledged to wed her. He promised to send her a gift, but instead defrauded her out of ₹3 crores.
He called the victim as part of his present bait, telling her that the gift had been seized by customs and other authorities and requesting money to release it.
