New Delhi:
On Saturday, the leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT) questioned the security and maintenance failures as well as the potential for ‘sabotage’ that resulted in the AI 171 flight accident in Ahmedabad, which claimed 274 lives. He also mentioned previous political resistance to the Boeing contract, pointing out that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party opposed it.

“Although I am not an expert, the Air India aircraft that crashed in Ahmedabad within 30 seconds of takeoff raises major concerns regarding sabotage.” “Did any hostile nation launch a cyberattack on the aircraft’s system as they attempt to target our military installations with their cyberattacks?” he inquired.

“When the Boeing agreement occurred, Praful Patel was the Minister of Civil Aviation, and the BJP opposed it. Nowadays, people are terrified to fly.  The aircraft industry relies heavily on maintenance. Who is in charge of Ahmedabad’s maintenance contract? For what reason was Ahmedabad chosen?

What caused the flight from Ahmedabad airport to crash? It’s very awful how ministers were acting on the plane wreckage,” he remarked.

Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, encouraged people to concentrate on the facts rather than the crash’s conspiracy theories. “A number of theories are emerging. A few former pilots are expressing their opinions. Experts are also offering their opinions. Everybody has a different interpretation of the circumstances. Additionally, you should be aware that one person survived this collision. Therefore, I ask that we concentrate on the facts of what actually occurred, even though many individuals are speaking from various points of view,” he stated.

A high-level, multidisciplinary group has been established by the government to look into the causes of the June 12 disaster of Air India Flight AI-171, which killed 274 people while traveling from Ahmedabad to London’s Gatwick Airport.

“The committee will not be a substitute for other inquiries being conducted by relevant organizations but will focus on formulating SOPs for preventing and handling such occurrences in the future,” the directive stated.

The panel will evaluate the emergency response, pinpoint the underlying reason, and suggest enhancements to operations, training, and policy.  In order to avoid and handle such occurrences in the future, it will also create SOPs that incorporate global best practices.
